Anika noni rose is an American singer-actress. Best known as the voice of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the first African American Disney Princess. Disney named her a Legend in 2011. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson on the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls. Anika noni Rose is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her most well-known role is portraying Tiana Disney's first African-American princess as she appeared in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Her most well-known roles include performances in the film Lorrell in Dreamgirls, which was an Academy Award winning film (2006) and LaVerne in Starz's Power. She's also known for performing on stage, particularly because of her starring role as Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performer Award was awarded to her as well as Beneatha Youther in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performance in a Play nominated her.
